| The
RMC (Route Master Coach) was designed
as a higher specification Routemaster
with doors at the rear and 'luxurious'
(at the time) features including
deeper seat cushions, fluorescent
lighting, better suspension and
luggage racks.
A small number of these were
built in 1962/3 and were primarily
used for 'Green Line' commuter
coach work to & from Central
London. At the end of the 1980's
some of the RMC's including
this bus ended up in East London
and took up a new London Buses
express service, route X15 (called
the 'Beckton Express') linking
the new Docklands areas with
Central London. Unfortunately
the X15 didn't last that long
and most of the RMC's were sold
off. This one ended in up in
Scotland working for Mac Tours
until recently when we acquired
the vehicle.
This vehicle has been refurbished
recently and has one of the
latest low emission engines.
It has been repainted in the
classic London route X15 livery
with a Gold beading around the
windows.
A superb looking London bus
for any event!
Please note: This bus does
not require a conductor |
